Later today I will go to the doctor to see if I have Minears disease or not. (It has to do with losing your hearing and having a lot of fluid in your ears for too long of a time and it is quite painful, what ever I have.)
My mother said that my grandfather and his mother had the disease so I had my sister call her dad and ask if Granddaddy and his mother had the disease. It is very rare to have a family member with the disease 5-10%.
He is pretty sure that my great grandmother had something like that; however, my grandfather didn't go deaf that way. He had the most origional way of going deaf.
See he fell into the grain silo and they got him out and he kept telling the dr that his ear hurt. The doc saw nothing (remember this is Applachian country, eventhough he lived in Christiansburg which is about 35 miles to VA Tech from his house.)
Well eventually that piece of grain had such a great growing place that it rooted into his eardrum and grew out of his ear.
This I have to say is probably the strangest thing that has ever happened to my family. I don't know the year but I have very few memories of him without his hearing aid.
Anything really strange in your family. My sister said at least now she knows where she gets her Mindy Moments from. Our fathers' side of the family and not our mother's side.
Take care and by all means share your weirdest story and see if you can top that.
Beth.
----------------------------------------------
My only full sister, after two marriages decided she was gay. She started a relationship and later marriage a transexual. This was a man who surgically became a woman who then felt attracted to my sister. Now if my sister is a lesbian, how is it she was attracted to a man who was surgically altered to appear as a woman? They divorced 4 months after the marriage.
I hope the Valentines Day brought great joy and memories. I thought of my secret valentine that I had when I was 9 and my sister had one when she was 12. It was a pair of brothers who thought we were perfect. We all became friends because at age 9 & 12 a person shouldn't be dating.
Take care my friend. Beth.
I hope this Valentines Day will bring you lots of love and joy, as mine has. I got pictures of my family, watched my grandson and got to spend most of the day with my husband, my cat and my dog.
Who could ask for more than that.
Take care of yourself. Beth.
I didn't know we had gay people in the area. It wasn't too long after that our marriage ended. Several guys in high school told me and I just assumed it was to break us up so they could take me out. Well two children later it was confirmed and I became a single mom for 14 years. My husband's wife left after one year and gave their daughter to her lesbian mother to raise. She successfully kept her away from my husband for 18 years and on her 18th birthday she called him. Later this year they are both ready to meet for the first time 10 years they have been talking on and off. She has five children and works for UPS. However she has never seen or contacted her mother who moved to Branson MO with her companion to join the Osmond family. I don't think the Osmonds were very receptive.
What a wonderful world if we look beyond the crazies in our lives and look at the bees and flowers, birds, skys and such we see the creation of what God has given us and it is a wonderful world.
Take care my brother in the gospel. Give your lovely wife an extra hug from me this Valentines day. Beth.
Actually it will be heating up soon. OH we are going to have a high of 50 this week. Considering that the last six weeks we've had no reprieve from the horrible weather, I feel like I've moved back to Superior WI for some type of punishment or self loathing or something like that.
I pray all is well with you and your wife, my brother in the gospel. Beth.
Oh before I sign off, I wonder what TFD & CO will do if the choice comes down to Hillry Clinton and Mitt Romney in '08...
